On March 14-16, 2018 FCCLA chapter officers: Maddy Harner, Bailey Selman, Gabby Roberts, and Alyssa White attended the 2018 State Leadership Conference. Brandon White was the keynote speaker. He was an excellent motivation speaker. If you get a chance, check out his YouTube videos.
Bailey and Maddy attended several workshops on leadership and FCCLA programs.
Gabby and Alyssa participated in STAR Events. They each completed a project before the conference. At the conference they gave a 10 to 15 minute presentation to 3 evaluators. Both girls received a gold medal (score of a 90-100) and the honor to be on the Pennsylvania National STAR Events team to compete at the FCCLA National Conference. Only the students with the 2 highest scores for each STAR Event category are able to be on the National team. Both girls had the second highest score in their category. They are preparing to attend the national conference June 28 - July 2, 2018 in Atlanta, GA.
