On March 18-20, three FCCLA members had the "Ultimate Leadership Journey" at the 2024 FCCLA State Leadership Conference. The conference was full of meetings, leadership workshops,STAR events, and activities to develop leadership skills. The Fairfield FCCLA chapter received a Gold Outstanding Chapter Award. The Pennsylvania Association of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America presents Outstanding Chapter awards to those chapters that plan and conduct well-balanced programs of work. The award recognizes the chapter's accomplishments in the areas of chapter operations, Regional, State, and National involvement, FCCLA Programs, Membership, and exceptional activities. Other awards the chapter received are Membership Campaign, National Program Power of One, and National Program Community Service.
Savannah Kahler and Karina Miller competed in STAR Events. They each completed a project before the conference. At the conference, they gave a 10-minute presentation to 3 evaluators.
Savannah received a gold medal in Focus on Children. Karina received a silver medal in Teach and Train. Savannah and Karina also received Power of One Awards. Both Karina and Savannah were selected to be 2024-2025 PA FCCLA State Officers. They will join 7 other FCCLA State Officers to plan, organize, and implement state FCCLA initiatives and the 2025 State FCCLA Leadership Conference.
This year's Chapter Member of the Year, Karina Miller, was recognized at the conference. She has made outstanding contributions to the Fairfield FCCLA chapter. Karina is the vice president of records of Fairfield FCCLA and a Pennsylvania South Central Region Officer.
Senior, Catherine Aker had the honor of being a voting delegate. She attended many meetings and leadership workshops. The Fairfield FCCLA chapter received many awards and recognition at the conference for all of their accomplishments.
Susan Donaldson, FAHS teacher, was honored to be named Central Region FCCLA Chapter Advisor of the Year by the State FCCLA Recognition Committee.
