FASD Title I Program
In the Fairfield Area School District all of our buildings are eligible for Title I services because we are all on one campus with each building serving children from throughout the district. We have chosen to serve only the Primary School with Title I funds because we believe in early intervention. All of our programs are in the area of literacy. Children are identified for the program based on teacher recommendation, performance on individual screening assessments, the Developmental Reading Assessment, and parent recommendations.
Programs include early literacy groups for grades K-4 students with kindergarten beginning in December. We are also proud to offer the Reading Recovery program. Reading Recovery is an intensive one-on-one program designed for first grade students who are struggling with beginning reading instruction. All Title I programs that are offered during the school year are taught by Reading Specialists who are also trained in Reading Recovery.
