Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What time does school start?

A: Students should be in class by 9:00 a.m.

Q: What time does school end?

A: Dismissal begins at 3:25 p.m.

Q: What should I do if I need to change my child's end-of-day transportation?

A: Please call the elementary school office by 2:00 p.m. if you need to change from car rider to bus or bus to car rider. You will be asked to send in an email as well in order for us to have the request in writing.

Q: Who do I talk to about changing buses?

A: Mrs. Wivell (717-642-2028) is our transportation coordinator and will help with any bus issues. Please allow 3 days for a transfer if accepted. 

Q: My child is sick! What do I do?

A: Keep them home. Call the elementary school office and let the secretary,  Mrs. Liller (lillerm@fairfield.k12.pa.us), know your child will be out. You will need to send in a note when your child returns. The note needs to include your child's first and last name, grade and teacher. If your child is out 3 days or more, he or she will need a doctor's note when they return to school.

Q. My child will not be in school, who do I notify?

A. Please notify the school secretary, Mrs. Liller (lillerm@fairfield.k12.pa.us) if your child will be absent. It is also a good idea to let your child's teacher know that they will not be in class that day. You will need to send in a note when your child returns. The note needs to include your child's first and last name, grade and teacher. Education Journey forms need to be submitted to the office 10 days prior to the dates you are requesting.
