Welcome to Mrs. Kemp's Site!
"Don't Stop Until You're Proud."
Hello Parents and Students,
I am thrilled to set out on an awesome adventure of discovery and learning this school year. Teaching is an absolute passion of mine, and I am so excited to see what lies ahead in our time together. As the school year approaches, I thought you would like to know a little about me.
This school year will be my tenth year of teaching. After graduating from Millersville University, I taught 4th grade in the Carlisle Area School District for nine wonderful years. Although it was difficult to say goodbye, I felt led to transfer school districts and take a more active role in the community that my family lives in.
My family includes my wonderful husband, Tyler and my two beautiful daughters, Ella and Madelyn. Ella is six years old and enjoys attending Fairfield Elementary, and Madelyn is three years old and full of spunk. We love Fairfield for its close-knit community and beautiful, rural landscape.
I grew up in a rural area as well- Dover, Pennsylvania. I graduated from Dover Area High School in 2005 as an active member of the concert choir, drama club, and National Honors Society. Even as a child, I enjoyed school and learning, and teaching always seemed like the perfect career path for me.
My philosophy of education is that all students deserve purposeful and differentiated instruction that allows them to find individual success academically and socially. I work hard every day to motivate students to construct their own knowledge through inquiry-based learning and encourage them to discover new strengths and talents. I aim to foster a love of learning and a growth mindset that will serve students in their future schooling and careers.
It is important to me that the line of communication stays open. This website will serve as an excellent resource in locating the following information:
- Classroom Rules and Behavior Plan
- Calendar of Homework Assignments, Quiz/Test Dates, and Project Deadlines
- Unit Study Guides
- Project Rubrics/Checklists
- Weekly Newsletter
- Helpful Student Links
I always welcome questions and comments from parents. I can be reached via email at kempr@fairfield.k12.pa.us or phone at (717) 642-8228.
Best Regards,
Mrs. Kemp
