    Summer Plan and Fall Information:
I hope this can provide you with information for this upcoming summer and fall athletic events.  As many of you are aware, the state of PA has required each school to come up with a "Return-to-Play" plan for summer activities.  Our plan was approved by our school board and can be found HERE for all to review.  The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we can and will do things going forward and I encourage you to read the plan carefully.  There is an acknowledgement and waiver form at the end that will need to be filled out and handed in to the coaches prior to being able to participate in VOLUNTARY summer workouts/training. Again this plan is only for summer participation and a new plan will be formulated for the Fall after the school district's "Return-to-School" plan is completed.
This year came to an unexpected close and with that we were not able to have "sign ups" for Fall sports in the HS & MS offices like we have done in the past.  To help the Fall coaches prepare, there is a google form below to fill out if your child is interested in participating in a fall sport.  The sports we offer are as follows:
MS Girls Field Hockey (Grades 7-8)
HS Boys & Girls Cross Country (Grades 9-12)
HS Cheerleading (football & soccer)  (Grades 9-12)
    HS Girls Soccer (Grades 9-12)
    HS Boys Soccer (Grades 9-12)
    HS Football (Grades 9-12)
HS Girls Field Hockey (Grades 9-12)
    HS Girls Volleyball (Grades 9-12)
    HS Golf (Grades 9-12)
Mandatory practices will start for Football on 8/10/2020 (Heat Acclimatization Week) and all other fall sports will begin on 8/17/2020. On these dates the practices are mandatory and the athletes are expected to be in attendance unless other arrangements have been made with the Head Coach of the sport.
Physicals this year have also had some changes as we will not be able to facilitate a "first come first serve basis" due to the social distancing guidelines.  This year the summer physical dates will be July 15th and 29th and they will be held at the WellSpan Rehab and Family Practice located next to the school in the Fairfield Towne Center.  These dates are for FALL athletes only and will be held from 5-7 PM.  Below there is an appointment form to help mitigate the flow of the athletes and to ensure that we are following the social distancing guidelines. There will be no areas available to fill out the physical forms as there was in the past, so please make sure you have the form printed and COMPLETELY filled out prior to your appointment. If you do not have a printer, you can stop by the Administration Office and pick up a form. If the paperwork is not filled out we will not be able to complete the physical at that time.  (The physical form is attached to this email.)
There is an Athletic Program Fee at Fairfield which is $50 per athlete per season of play.  We ask that any athlete participating in a fall sport pay this at the time they come to receive the physical.  This fee is required to be paid no matter if you get a school sponsored physical or if you go to your doctor and get a physical, it is a fee to participate not a physical fee. We would prefer to handle cash as little as possible, so if you have the ability to write a check that would be best.  There is a possibility that we will have a new "card" payment system up and running the days of the physicals, however, if you would choose to pay with your card it would be a fee of 3.4% so you would be paying $51.70. Checks should be made out to "FASD" and please write the athletes name in the notes/memo blank on the check.
