    PSAT Testing and Resources
This test is offered at Fairfield Area High School, during the school day on the second Wednesday in October, as determined by the CollegeBoard. There is a cost for taking this test. The cost is determined by the CollegeBoard and must be paid to the Counseling Office prior to testing day. 10th graders are strongly encouraged to take this test in order to see what is ahead of them! All 10th and 11th graders are encouraged to take the test. For Juniors this test may qualify them for scholarships through the National Merit Scholarship Corportation as well as help prepare them to take the SAT test in the spring.

PSAT score reports are sent directly to the high school during the first week in December. At that time, the students are given their score report AND their personal test booklet from that testing day in October. The score report contains important information to help students prepare for taking the SAT as well as learning more about their academic strengths and weaknesses.  The answers to each item are listed so that students may go back and better understand how the test is written.  Each student also has a personalized access code that they may each use at the CollegeBoard website for personalized test and college search help.  This tool is a wonderful way to prepare for tests and college exploring!  Please encourage your student to take advantage of this code!!

These documents will help to explain how to read your student's score report.
